West Nile Virus Detected
WNV risk is currently Level 1 (Low Risk) based on the CDC's WNV guidelines for a phased response. This means that there are active vector mosquitoes and sporadic WNV activity in local mosquitoes. More information on how to prevent WNV is available from the Wyoming Department of Health at badskeeter.org
Report Biting Mosquitoes
The City of Cheyenne Weed & Pest Division traps adult mosquitoes nightly during the summer, spring, and fall to track mosquito populations and to test for vector-borne diseases. Trapping information is by no means comprehensive and citizen reporting can help us better track mosquito activity in the area. You can also report standing water that may contribute to increased mosquito numbers.
